There are many different types of fish aquarium set-ups, aquascapes, design, decor etc...
There are several different types of aquariums to choose from:
Tropical Freshwater fish are the most popular due to the ease of care and fish species to choose from, these fish live in lakes or rivers with temperatures between 75°F and 80°F (24-27°C) and Discus being even warmer, around up to 86°F or 30°C.
Coldwater Fish like waters below 70°F (21°C) this would include Goldfish, White Cloud Minnow, Rosy Barbs, and the hillstream loach.
Saltwater or Marine aquariums are beautiful Saltwater fish that you would find in the oceans such as Clownfish and Tangs and requires a lot more maintenance the the others.
Nano tanks are just small tanks, usually under 5 gallon and can be tropical or saltwater, some enthusiast use this term when describing tanks that are home to snails, shrimp, bettas or goldfish. They are great when you have very limited space and can still be a focal point in your space.
There are a few different styles of aquariums that you may want to consider, for instance, Rectangular, bow front, round , corner and even hexagon, it all depends on your space and your personal taste.
Some people choose to have a theme like Japanese inspired or Zen garden and someone else may like more of an eco inspired with plants and wood. Whatever you choose just enjoy the process and make it your own, the possibilities are endless.
