Betta fish are stunning, vibrant creatures that many people find easy to care for, making them a popular choice for beginners. However, there's more to discover about these fascinating fish.  

Known as Siamese fighting fish, males can be quite aggressive. In contrast, female Bettas tend to be more peaceful and can thrive in a sorority under optimal conditions.

Important tips: Although some people say you can have a Betta in a jar or small bowl with no filtration, your bettas will NOT thrive. they need clean stable water just like any other fish. If you provide your fish with the right environment, they will be happy and therefore make you happy.

A. They need, at the very minimum a 1 gallon tank with filtration and preferably fake or live plants, rocks and caves.

B.  Bettas are strictly carnivores and like a high protein diet, like betta pellets, frozen blood worms and brine shrimp or daphnia and they do best with a very small amount twice a day rather than a full meal once a day.

1. Female Bettas may be underestimated due to their shorter fins.

2. Despite their smaller fins, they are still incredibly beautiful and colorful.

3. These females are full of personality and spunk.

4. While females can coexist peacefully, it's important to monitor for signs of stress, as this can lead to aggression.

5. A good guideline is to provide one Betta for every two gallons of water, with a minimum tank size of 20 gallons or more.

7. You can also  include Plecos, Corydoras catfish, Kuhli loaches, Rasboras, and peaceful tetras like Neons.

1. Males are quite territorial and tend to be very aggressive towards other Bettas.
