Tropical freshwater Angelfish are in the Cichlid family and are native to South America, they can be found in different colors and patterns. Angelfish have a body length of up to approx. 6 inches and height of approx. 8 inches due to their fins.
Most Angelfish are labeled semi-aggressive because when breeding they present territorial behavior, otherwise they are relatively peaceful, graceful fish and can share a tank with other tank mates such as Corydoras, black skirt tetras, cardinal tetras.
Angelfish are slow elegant swimmers and will stand out in any tank and prefer plants and substrate that are not rough or sharp due to their flowing fins.
Temperature: They do well in temperatures between 76°- 86° (24°- 30°)
Tank size: A pair of Angelfish can live in a 29 gallon tall tank without much decor but you must be mindful of the fins and the decor will take up space so most hobbyist prefer a 40 gallon or bigger.
Diet: Angelfish are Ominvorous so they can enjoy dry, frozen and live foods
